As this year trudges on, I am looking forward to the blockbusters that are coming out in the latter part of the year, specifically the 23rd release of a James Bond film called Skyfall. I am a Bond fan, and I like Daniel Craig in the role, you can be sure I will be seeing this one right away.
There’s is an earlier post I wrote about the bond 50th anniversary edition of the Omega Seamaster 300m, which is a fantastic watch. Well Omega has done it again, and continues to capitalize on the succesful relationship they have with the incredible Mr. James Bond. This Omega Seamaster is the second limited edition piece to be released by omega this year, and is of course the perfect accoutrement for the famous spy who wears it in the 23rd edition of the Bond franchise. The new movie, Skyfall, will be released in November, and it is the seventh time that James wears an Omega. Pierce Brosnan first picked one up from Q in Goldeneye, in 1995.
This piece is a special version of the 42mm Planet Ocean, powered by Omega’s exclusive new Co-Axial calibre 8507. It is water-resistant at 60 bars/600 metres, which would be something important to Mr. Bond. The diving bezel has a matt black ceramic ring with a chromium nitride scale.It has a number of features that are specific to The limited edition version of the Planet ocean: the 007 logo at 7 o’clock, the bracelet’s divers’ clasp engraved with 007, and the inscription Skyfall 007 engraved in lacquered black on its rotor. The movement is visible through sapphire crystal in the case back.
This edition, produced in 5,007 pieces and represented in a special presentation box. it is due to be available in fall. It should come out in time so you are able to wear it to see the film, and that would be swell.
