How I Met Your Mother

This season coming up, I am really looking forward to. It premiers September 24th. This season is the second to last, purportedly. And it is going to be tying up some loose ends and themes in the show, as well as offering more direct clues as to who “The Mother” is.

The premise of the show is the main Character Ted Mosby’s (played by Josh Radnor) recountManhattan of events that led up to meeting his children’s mother. The show is narrated by an older Mosby (voiced by Bob Sagat) to his adolescent children. How I Met Your Mother premiered on CBS on September 19, 2005, created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays.

Set in Manhattan, the show also follows the social and romantic lives of Ted Mosby’s friends and peers; Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), and Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris). It plays out well and has some great reoccurring plot lines and characters. I often compare it to another sitcom following a cast of friends living in apartments in New York, and meeting at a local haunt, anyone remember a very popular “show about nothing”?

At Tom’s Restraunt

How I Met Your Mother has been a critical success, and consistently receives great reviews. The show has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards, winning six. In 2012, the series won the People’s Choice Award for Best TV Network Comedy and Neil Patrick Harris won the award for Best Male Comedy Actor. As I said I have been a fan for a while, I remember watching Harris’ character Barney Giving out his phone number during the broadcast of  Super Bowl XLIV it correlated to the episode “Rabbit or Duck”, which aired the week after the Super Bowl and included a plot line regarding barney and his phone number stunt to meet girls. The character Barney also has a made up blog which I have had linked from this site since I began it. Check it out on the right sidebar. How I met your Mother is light-hearted and sometimes silly, but to begin a busy week, for me it is How I met Swell.
